Guatemala: Concepción Huista
Medium
Concepción Huista is a town located in one of the highest areas of Guatemala called Sierra de los Cuchumatanes. It has a unique microclimate, created by warm updrafts from the plains of Tehuantepec mixing with the cooler air descending from the Cuchumatanes Mountains, fostering high-quality coffees. In this region, it’s common for single producers to grow, harvest, and process their own coffee: usually 20-30 bags per year. The cooperative that produced this coffee is made up of small holders across the region. This lot has a classically sweet flavor profile that reminds us of rich chocolate and warm caramel.
